Opinion Editorial Reflection

Overall, I think the writing of the Opinion Editorial went really well. I liked how we were given enough time to get it written. Also, being able to turn in the Opinion Editorial as a rough draft first made it less stressful on my part. I loved that I was able to have enough time to edit it and make it the paper I wanted it to be. There is not a whole lot I would change about this process, other than after I get my graded paper back, I will know how to better write my papers for this class.

This picture I chose, is I just feel that all we need to write a good paper is some Inspiration!

Peer review = Success!

I always love doing peer review. I feel like when you get the opinion and help from your peers, it helps make your papers so much better. Also, in high school, I remember getting my paper edited was never any help because my classmates weren't that good at writing papers. However, here, I felt like it went really well because we actually care about our grades. I thought the process we used was really interesting. I like how we read the papers out loud. Reading your paper out loud is so helpful to notice little mistakes. It was really cool that after we read them aloud, we exchanged them and edited the papers ourselves. I think it made the process much more smoother. I would definitely like to do this peer review process with our other papers!

Anything and Everything

I just love the feeling of finishing a paper. I think its one of the best feelings in the world to be able to sum up all of your thoughts onto one paper. The best part is being able to turn it in, being confident that it was a well written paper. My paper still has some work to do, but I am hoping it turns out well in the end. I remember I was so nervous when I came to college, thinking that my papers were going to be eaten to death by teachers. But, I feel like the teachers here really care that we do well and I feel comfortable asking people for help. Overall, even though papers absolutely suck to write, it is worth it in the end.

Opinion Editorial is good to go!

I have decided to totally go a different route for this paper than I was thinking. I was talking to one of my friends in class today when it came up that in high school, it was almost expected that we should know what we want to major in. When you think about it, the classes you take in high school in no way prepare you for what you think you want to do with your life. How can adults expect 17-18 year old students to know what they want to do?
In my paper I hope to include that maybe a helpful way to fix this problem, is somewhere in high school introduce students to different majors and job opportunities. After being here at college, I have already decided to change my major because I felt pressured to choose one so soon before I was even ready. So my argument is that college's such as BYU and its faculty should not expect students to know their major so soon when they get to college.

Paper ideas!

So I have thought a lot about this paper and recently in my Intro to family processes class we have been talking about families and the definition of them. So I was thinking maybe I could do something of that sort by writing my opinion on what I believe a family consists of. I was also thinking I could write about music and how I feel that music influences people's lives because it is a huge part in my life as well.

What do you want to do with your life?

As human beings, we tend to create goals for ourselves. Its human nature to be always looking to the future and what our potential is. For myself, I have always wanted to strive and be the best person I can be. I hope that I can graduate from BYU with a major in Special Education and a minor in Music. As any girl, I wish to get married sometime in the next couple years of my life.
I've always had that goal to start a family and get cealed in the temple to my eternal companion. I want to be able to serve to the best of my ability in my church callings and be a light to those who need it. In my life I hope to bless the lives of those around me and raise my children in the gospel. Overall, I hope my life is full of happiness and joy. I have been so blessed in my life and I hope I never take it for granted.
